Well, I think that about wraps it up. I realize that I’ve only dedicated a few paragraphs to what amounts to a lot of major life changes, but it’s better than the zero paragraphs I had before. Now that all the major events have been recorded, I will try to do an anime update on the new stuff out in Japan that’s worth checking out. But that will have to wait until another day.

We’re the proud owners of a fabulous new 2006 Honda Civic Coupe. It’s galaxy grey metallic and equipped with all the bells and whistles including navigation (which is super handy!). It’s the first new new car either of us has ever gotten and I must say it was quite an experience. First of all, do not believe a single word that comes out of the mouth of a car salesman (or, in our case, saleswoman). Luckily, we knew this bit of information before we started shopping or it would’ve been a much more painful process.

Next, be prepared to leave the dealership several times. I don’t quite understand why this game has to occur, but it goes something like this: Look at car. Leave. Look at car again. Leave. Look at car again. Make low offer. Get offer rejected. Leave. Get a call from the car dealer about coming in for negotiations. Make new offer. Get offer rejected. Leave. Repeat as long as necessary until you get to a price you like. Bleh. I swear car dealerships only exists to wring every drop of joy out of the car buying experience.

After four years of dating and two years of engagement we finally decided to tie the knot. We had a destination wedding in Las Vegas and most of our close family was able to make it out. We were married on September 4 in the Chapel at the Luxor. We had a blast, the wedding was perfect, and everything was very low stress, just how I wanted it. Hopefully I’ll get around to posting some pictures one of these days. Until then (because really, I’m not exactly known for my prompt attention to my site), I’m including a picture in the post, so you can see how great we looked. :)

FYI… I am changing my name to Jessie Mihalik. I’m still not sure what I’m going to do about the site name, though. Domains are cheap, maybe I’ll keep both…

Yes, we did successfully get moved into our new house, complete with new floor tile in the utility room, half bath, and master bath thanks to many backbreaking hours of manual labor. We did it all ourselves and I must say that it turned out pretty good. Now we just have the entry, kitchen, an upstairs bath to finish. Ick.

Overall though, the house is shaping up nicely. We did some painting before we moved and we are now in the process of hanging two inch faux wood blinds throughout the house and that’s about it. We are still trying to banish the last of our boxes of moving stuff, though.

She lives! So, I realize it’s been oh… about… um, four months? since I updated and I intend to fix that today with a comprehensive mess of updates about the major life happenings that have occurred in that time. At least that’s the plan.
