My edits for Hunt the Stars were approved with enthusiastic exclamation marks from my editor, so now it moves on to production and copyediting, which means it’s inching ever closer to becoming a real book. I’ve seen an early version of the cover, and I love it to pieces, so I can’t wait to share. 😍

I’m still writing book two. I’m over 35k words now, but I have about 70k more to go. Writing is going okay. I always wish it was faster, but I’ll never be a speedy writer. This one is a little different from the previous book, so we’ll see if that works or not. I’m calling it a problem for future me and plowing ahead.

Hopefully that doesn’t come back to bite me. 😂

Say hello to Hunt the Stars! The preorder links are still populating (Amazon and Barnes & Noble seem to be first, though BN is kind of broken for me), but the cover copy is up and I couldn’t wait to share. :)

This is the copy for the sales catalog and sometimes the wording gets tweaked a little before it goes on the back of the book, but the essence won’t change. :)

Even though writing last year was a bit of a slog, I had so much fun with this story, and I absolutely can’t wait for you to meet Tavi and Torran! It’s a slow burn, enemies-to-lovers between two people who have no reason to trust each other, but even less reason to trust the powers that be. Plus there might be a little bit of science-y magic… in spaaaaace! ;)

Edits are supposed to land soon, and my editor said she was ADORING it, so yay for that! I will update the post and the book page with all of the preorder links once they’re available.

New Shiny (aka HUNTED) Snippet!

This morning, I sent my latest book to my editor! By the end, New Shiny wasn’t exactly an accurate description anymore (more like Die, Book, Die STAB STAB STAB), but now it’s done and sent off! 🎉

I did the world’s fastest reread and edit, since I wrote until Christmas, but I have to say—I love this book. Writing it was really difficult, what with 2020 being *waves hands,* but I think it turned out pretty good! And Mr. M said it was his favorite book so far (replacing Aurora Blazing, lest you think every book is his favorite, lol).

Before I get to the promised snippet, I have more good news: both Chaos Reigning and The Queen’s Triumph are in the semi-final round of the inaugural Swoon Awards!

As you can see from the tweet above, the SFR category is rife with fantastic books, but thankfully, in this round you can vote for up to five books! If you feel so inclined, I would love for you to vote for mine. :)

If you haven’t read Alyssa’s and Nalini’s new releases, you definitely should! They are two of my favorite authors, so I might be a little biased (or a lot biased, lol), but all of the other reviews agree. :)

I read The A.I. Who Loved Me by Alyssa last week and it was amazing. Biting social commentary on the dangers of an increasingly tech-filled world perfectly paired with a hot, delicious romance. I adore Alyssa’s voice and I could’ve easily highlighted half the book just for the beautiful turns of phrase. I’ve got all of my fingers crossed that the other characters in the book get their own stories!

Last night, I finished Alpha Night, Nalini’s new release that just came out on Tuesday. I love, love, love the Psy-Changeling books and this one didn’t disappoint. A badass alpha wolf and a distant, nearly broken Arrow (a badass Psy soldier) mate at first sight. Their HEA is so, so good.

As always, try a sample before you buy, but don’t do it close to bedtime or you’ll stay up waaaayyyy too late. Been there, done that. :)

Next up: The Queen’s Triumph. Yes, it’s still happening. Yes, it’ll be a free serial first. I’m still writing it, so expect it to start late summer.

And, yes, the ebook is already up for preorder, coming December 8. :)

And, before I go, I urge you to please support the protestors and the change they are working for. Public protest is one of the strongest tools for change we have in a democracy. Listen. Learn. Help. The news seems to have moved on, but protests are still happening and there is a lot of work left to do. Black Lives Matter.
