RWA2018 Signing Recap

I had such a fun time at my first RWA conference! It took me a week to recover from the people overload, but I don’t regret a second of it. :)

I’m thrilled to report that my first ever signing was a success! I signed close to 150 copies of Polaris Rising in an hour. It was crazy awesome!

Thank you to everyone who came by and took the time to pick up a copy. Especially when I was in the same room as Beverly Jenkins, Tessa Dare, Sarah MacLean, and so many more incredible, amazing authors. Before the signing, it was all I could do not to run around fangirling like crazy.

It was my first time seeing PR in print, and I have to say, I was blown away. It looks INCREDIBLE in person, y’all. Look at this table. Look. At. It. ?

Who could resist? I couldn’t, and I might have made a very unprofessional squeeing sound when I saw it. In fact, if you want to see a face of pure joy, look no further.

Also, I might have been a little excited during the signing, so if I practically shouted a greeting at you, I apologize. I also apologize to my lovely next door neighbors, Tara Wyatt (my agency sister!) and Jennifer Estep, who were so, so nice and probably had to listen to me more than they would like. Hopefully one day I will be as calm and collected as you ladies! :)

And because I can’t believe it really happened, here is a photo of me signing for one of the early readers who come by my table. Look, mom, I’m an author!

Me signing

If you didn’t get a chance to come by, never fear. I’m supposed to get my personal allotment of galleys soon-ish and of course I’ll give you all the chance to win one. If you want to be sure to have every opportunity, don’t forget to sign up for my author newsletter, too. :)

I also picked up a bunch of other books to give away, so as soon as I get myself somewhat organized, expect a giveaway or two of signed books from other RWA authors.

For now, I have to get back to writing book two. But I’ll leave you with this close up of the front and back cover of PR because, honestly, I can’t get enough of it. It’s really real and I am so, so lucky. :)

  1. Aww wish I lived closer so I could have gone. I would have loved to get Polaris Rising early but I guess I will have to wait until it comes out next year. (or if I am luck win one in your giveaways)
    Congrats on the signing!

  2. Oh my gosh that is so awesome!!! I wish I lived close enough to come grab a copy. I will be keeping my eyes open for the giveaway.

And you can always fan girl….its totally appropriate

  3. Well….shoot! I couldn’t make it to RWA this year, but a friend asked if I wanted anything from the signing. If I had known you were there, I definitely would have had her pick up a copy. DANG IT!!!!

  4. Congratulations on your first signing!
I wish I had have been there to meet you, and read Polaris Rising sooner.
I can’t wait until it comes out here in Canada!

  5. I’m sad I wasn’t there to get a copy. How were there copies there but we have to wait till 2019 for the release date? I’m sad!

    1. Don’t be sad! These weren’t the final copies of the book, they are specially printed early review copies, complete with errors, given away to build buzz (hopefully) and get everyone excited about the release! It’s part of the publisher’s marketing strategy. And a better release means more opportunities for me to keep writing books. :)

  6. I love the picture haha, wish I could have been there! You seem (still) super excited about it haha, that’s great !!
Again, can’t wait to read P.R but I guess we still have to wait :p
