The Queen’s Gambit Audiobook!

I’ve been sitting on this news for a while (though my newsletter subscribers got an early hint), but I’ve sold the audiobook rights for The Queen’s Gambit and The Queen’s Advantage to Tantor Media!

The Queen's Gambit Audiobook cover featuring a woman with a gun with planets behind her.

Not only that, but The Queen’s Gambit audiobook is already available! If audiobooks are your jam, now you have the option and you don’t even have to wait. :)

As you may know, I find it deeply strange to listen to my own audiobooks, but the few seconds I heard sounded good. 😂

Rachel Dulude narrates and she’s narrated many, many fabulous books.

I don’t know when the audiobook of The Queen’s Advantage will be available, but it will very likely be after the ebook release, because I just sent final edits in to my agent late last night. 🎉🎉🎉

TQA now clocks in at just over 52k, so it’s firmly out of novella territory. The serial was about 42k, which means I added around 10k during edits. This wasn’t a massively different rewrite like the end of the TQG, but there were definitely some changes and lots of deepening of the various scenes.

I hope you all enjoy the new words!

Do you want to ensure you don’t miss the new, improved TQA? You can preorder from your favorite retailer now! 😉

  1. Congrats on submitting final edits!!!! I am definitely looking forward to TQA!

I can only imagine how odd it would be to her someone else read your works to you. :) As readers we develop our impression of characters but you create them so it would be discombobulating for sure.

    Anyway.

    Yay for the lovely news!

  2. Hey congratulations on finishing the edits for TQA! Looking forward to it.

I’m still so-so on audiobooks, I’m not sure why. For the most part it is probably because I read much faster than people talk. Also some narrators use voices that are not at all as I imagined the character. I think I tried a Mercy Thompson audiobook and neither Mercy nor Adam sounded at all like I thought they should so I had to stop.

I’m trying to remember the book I read this in- a character is trying to describe the difference between reading silently and listening to an audiobook and he describes the audiobook as wearing a fluffy knitted hat because you are surrounded by another person’s voice. I guess for me sometimes that hat is comforting and sometimes it’s just stifling!

  3. That’s awesome!
I learned yesterday that my library purchased the Polaris Rising ebook! I suggested they also buy Aurora Blazing and put myself on the waitlist for Polaris.
What’s intriguing to me is that my library doesn’t own a single Ilona Andrews book, the authors responsible for me buying you books.

    1. *buying your books. I have purchased your books for my personal use, I don’t work in the collections department of my library. :)
